S8 E79 - Kannetha Brown
Kannetha Brown is a Cambodian-American photographer from Rhode Island. Influenced by her experiences with body politics, intimacy, and womanhood, she explores power and the female gaze in her artwork.
Her story is fantastic and inspiring as someone living at home, enrolled in art school and working towards her dream of being a commercial photographer who makes a difference in the lens we are viewing our world through.
Brown has been featured in publications including Rolling Stone, Elle Magazine, and Best of Photo Vogue. Her photographs have been exhibited in various American and European galleries such as GRRL HAUS Cinema, The Luupe, and El Salón— all of which commit to representing the narratives of women, LGBTQ+, and Black, Indigenous, people of color.
